Born in Luxembourg in 1879 a great artist in fine arts, experimenting
with Colour Edward was one of the first from his time to invent colour in
photography images around the years of 1904.
Edwards travels and inspirations from other photographers opened
new ways of creating images and colour into his work. Branching out further a
field his work led him to war time photography first and second world
wars capturing images that are well documented.
His work branched out further directions such as commercial and advertising, and film and the fashion
world Vogue, Vanity Fair, then Edward worked along side Actors Charles Chaplin
and many other great actors and actresses.
Edwards’s work was ahead of time Bringing Style and Fashion though
his images. From the dark times of two world wars women expressed themselves into
more beauty icons like film stars inspirations to many. Fashions became more
daring, skirt lengths became short. And for history women were documented in to
sport for the first image of a lady in sports wear. captured by Edward
This image explains how women from as early as 1920s took to sports
changing rolls Women were portrayed as stereotypes, such as stay at
home to care for family now women were to change every thing in history taking
over the rolls of men.
Magazines changed everything around the times of
the early 1920s women were getting out more and more active, even rights to
vote, and Dance, and to drink Alcohol and drive cars. This was the most influential times, drinking and socializing
more of a sexual appeal to women. For example Gloria Swanson was an actress the image portrays lights and lace
material the shades in the image crisp and outstanding bringing the eyes say it all that focus out of the image. Edwards Images are a credit to the future for film arts and photography industry, changing the world for the future fashion designers and photographers.

Looking at this image was
ahead of its time the style the colour that as been used and the lighting. His work
was mainly camera and painting images. I understand there
was a great deal light was used in this image, light and shadow. Charles Chaplin in this image captures not just his beauty but his smile, the style and
reflection that were used using sepia creating His refection .
Edwards use of oil paints, I admire the reflection
of nighttime paintings the reflections of the trees on the pond, then there is
the moon appearing in the distance of the forest. It’s quoted that this oil
